Articles on this site are published under the byline "Degree College Online Editorial Team." The team researches, writes and reviews our rankings of online degree programs by subject, our guides to accredited programs, and our articles on what online degrees cost and how long they take. We use software tools, including AI writing tools, to help draft and organize articles; an editor reviews each article before it is published.

What we cover

We focus on one question: which accredited online degree programs are worth a closer look in a given subject, and how can you tell whether a school is legitimate. Our rankings follow the method described on How We Rank: accreditation first, then graduation rate, cost per credit and transfer credit.

Sources

We prefer primary sources: schools' own catalogs and tuition pages, the U.S. Department of Education (including the College Scorecard and its database of accredited institutions), the National Center for Education Statistics, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the recognized accrediting agencies themselves, and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. We do not copy rankings from other publishers.

Advertising and independence

Degree College Online is supported by advertising. Some schools and education partners pay to be featured, and we may be paid when a reader asks a school for information. Paid placements are labeled. Payment does not decide where a program appears in a ranking, and a school without recognized accreditation is not ranked at any price.

Accuracy and updates

Tuition, program details and accreditation status change. We revisit our rankings and update them when we find information has changed, and each article shows the date it was published. Always confirm current costs, admission requirements and accreditation directly with a school before you enroll.

Corrections

If you believe something in an article is wrong or out of date, please tell us through our contact page. We review every report and correct errors we confirm.
